Official specification links

Open the official specification for any requirement straight from the Auditsu standards browser. Links open in a new tab.

Opening an official reference

Requirements that carry an official reference show an external link icon at the end of the row. Select the row to open the reference in a new tab, leaving your place in Auditsu untouched.

Links point to official sources only, such as the W3C's WCAG documentation for WCAG criteria. EN 301 549 is published by ETSI, the European telecommunications standards body. Not every requirement has an external link; rows without the icon are reference entries only.

When to use them

The official text is the authoritative wording of a requirement. Reach for it when you need to:

  • Quote the normative wording in a report or accessibility statement
  • Resolve a disagreement about what a criterion requires
  • Read the full context behind a check you have just audited

You do not need them mid-audit

Every check in the walkthrough includes its own plain-language explanation and test guidance, so the specification is rarely needed while auditing. The standards browser and its external links are there for the deeper reading, before an audit when you are setting one up, or afterwards when you are writing up findings.
